It’s a State of Emergency Do You Know What to Do?
All across the east coast a state of emergency was called due to the winter Snowpocalypse. Everything from corner stores to subway stations never opened yesterday and over the past weekend leaving many major cities to shut down almost completely. Although the winter snow is starting to slow down Checktheweather.net wants to make sure our readers know what to do in case of an emergency and/or natural disaster. Come on ya’ll know Haiti could be the Bay Area any day so here are our tips for staying woke.
1. Visit Ready.gov
Ready.gov is a site managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency aka FEMA (they getting it together ya’ll). On Ready.gov you can find out tips on creating a an emergency kit, making a plan and staying informed during an emergency. Check out the widget below for more helpful tips courtesy of ready.gov.
2. Get trained in Emergency Prep!
Ready to take the next step and be even more prepared? Sign up for a free training via Citizen Corps. Citizen Corps is also a program of FEMA and offers a more in-depth training on Emergency prep. Visit Citizencorp.gov to find the next class near you!
