The video is a huge shout out to the city of Detroit, and the amazing work they're doing through the Detroit Summer youth program. There's also some beautiful clips from the US Social Forum at the end! While I was in Detroit for the Social Forum, one of the most powerful experiences was seeing the creativity and the energy in the community organizing, and how the community's work for years had turned crisis into opportunity. The EPA has announced the finalists for the agencies, Faces of the Grassroots Environmental Justice Video Competition. The videos range from 30 second Public Service Announcements to 5 minute Informational videos. Everyday until we run out of video’s Checktheweather.net will feature one of the nominees (Yea!)
