Howard University Hosts DC Climate Convergence Featuring Bill McKibben and Kari Fulton

Students and communities across Washington, DC, and the globe gathered to launch Earth Month 2022 at the DC Climate Convergence featuring a panel of professors and leaders in advancing Environmental Education. The keynote speakers for the event were Bill McKibben, Climate Scientist, writer, and founder of 350.org and Third Act; and Kari Fulton, founder/ managing editor of Checktheweather.net.

Fulton was joined on stage by her 8-year-old son, Solomon, and Herb Scott, a world-renowned, award-winning jazz artist and co-founder of the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation. Listen to music from Herb Scott here.

The event was hosted by The Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area as a part of the Worldwide Climate and Justice Teach-in. The WORLDWIDE TEACH-IN is a project of the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Bard College in New York, USA, in conjunction with global partners. Universities in the DC area hosted a week of events including service projects, panel discussions, and student-led events.
